C2 '67 harmonic balancer question

On the '67 L-79 harmonic balancer, what is the original color scheme for the TDC line? Over the years, I ran a thin white paint line thru this 'notched' section so as to better see during timing.

Curiosity has me wondering what it looked like way-back-when. Perhaps it was simply an indentation that showed up with a timing light? Or maybe a thin black line?

As I said, just wondering...

Originally, the balancer was just painted with the engine. No attempt, at all, was made to increase the visibility of or otherwise "mark" the TDC groove.
