            Loren,

I only bought the magazine to get a picture of YOUR car.

                  Here's mine, an 82, but a 6 cyl

Along with the 67 S/B, I got best of both worlds.

Your looking at my next restoration project. It runs well and gets me around. Second owner since 83.

Sorry I missed you at Boston.

                      Conquista's came with

a wine cooler and fancy cork screw. But since this was my business car, I had to take it out

Presently learning about Dualjet E2ME carbs. Pretty sophisticated emissions and fuel mixture control. She get's about 20 mpg on a long cruise, but less then 10 around town on a 231-6. Trying to figure that out. Any advice?

                      Regards,

                        Re: Conquista's came with

Is that the 231 Buick V6, or is that a Chevy V6?.

If the Buick, I'm thinking there has to something wrong (high axle ratio?). That little Buick 231 was a gas miser, even in the larger passenger cars. Since 1976, it is still delivering the goods too; that basic engine is still used in all Buick V6 applications, but not for long...I believe this is the last year for it.

                          Re: Conquista's came with

It is the same engine as an 82 Buick Regal or Le Sabre, LD-5 231 V6 original to the El Camino.

                          From the Order Copy:GU2 273 rearend, MX1 and MX2 3 speed Automatic, F41 Suspension.

Had the engine overhauled to OEM a few years ago, nothing fancy, bu solved my oil usage problem. The carb has never been overhauled so I suspect that that is the problem.

I guess I ought to post this on the Chevelle site.
