I ahve just finished putting the grille and front lic.plate holder in place and the clearance between the point of the teeth and the top of the bumperette is only about 1/4 to 3/8 inch, is this correct? It seems a little close but in looking through all the pictures and documentation at my disposal I can't find a good detail view of this area. My Guess is that the previous owner bumped into something in years past and bent the supports and I would appreciate anyone aho can give me the proper clearance so I can straighten the brackets if necessary. Thanks, John

Re: 60 grille clearance
If the brackets are bent, Straighten them. If the brsackets measure 22 inches in length, send them to me, (I need them), and purchase the correct 58-60 from someone who sells parts. There is no "correct or incorrect". Remember? Just, "typical of factory production". If the bumperettes clear the grille, then that's probably typical. Something ain't right when you got an inch or more clearance and it ain't right when the bumperettes recede in to the grille teeth.

Re: 60 grille clearance
John, It sounds as if your brackets may be bent just a little. On a car with no front end damage (known at least) the front of the tooth to the closest point on the bumperette is 1 1/8" on both sides. The bracket is easily bent, especially on curbs.- Top

Re: Someone With 1970 BB Air Car
Bill,
' I believe the reproduction labels do not come with any date and yoiu have to type your correct info in. I know I purchased a new label for ,my 69 L46 w/c60 and was told this is the case. Am not sure what type of font one would use etc. maybe someone else could shed light on this.
