    1969 L-88 yellow

Hi folks, I was just at a car show last weekend. I was told this is one of four 69' L-88's delivered to Canada. It looked good like a factory car, not a show car. It had the sales papers from Central Chevrolet in London, Ontario.

Also the GM Canada documents, It has the L-88 the M-22 4spd, but what gets me is, with all that power at your feet why would someone order the 3:08-1 posi rear. I thought these machines were sold to drag?

    Any thoughts?

    Ken.

    Ken,

There are some 1971 LS6 Corvettes built with M22 and 3:08 ratios also. Get a copy of Karl Ludvigsens book titled Corvette Americas Star Spangled Sports Car. It has a plethora of L-88's in racing courses using higher numerical gears.

Hi Mike, I saw the car at the Tradex centre in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada. It was a real nice looking 69'.

There was also a blue coupe that came down to the states for a while. I understand that it is back in Canada somewhere now.

Ken, did you happen to get the VIN on that L88?

                      no pen-pencil

Hi Steve, I had seen the documents, GM of Canada verification and the sales papers plus other paper work but I did't have any writing material, and I think the owner was getting a little @#$#%# off at me, for asking so many questions. But I wanted to KNOW! The research papers from GM of Canada were from 1993, and done by George Zapora.
George still does the historical research for GM of Canada. I'm also sure that if the owner updated his research, there would be more infomation, because now they are giving more detailed info, as DEALER-PRODUCTION DATE-PRODUCTION NUMBERS IMPORTED TO CANADA- and paper-work on all the specs for that car for that year. And it only costs about $50.00, not bad EH?

It was nice, but I just had some questions, that's all.

                      Ken.
