Every now and then while being at a car show I get that , people saying they owned one and their Corvette dint have them , also because I drive my 55 often I'm asked what kind of car I'm driving.I get the biggest kick when I see a new Corvette and pull up next to them asking what is that? They respond saying (why it a Corvette) then look me over they ask (what kind of car are you driving) I'm surprised how many new Corvette owners have to idea what I'm driving. Also you see young guys at Chevy dealers standing around like vultures and when I pull up come up asking what is it. Oh well!! I love it,

Re: Cartoon
Roy, I always love it when asked and I tell them a '55, I usually get: " I used to have one of those" or " my neighbor has one too". If I counted up all the times I heard that, I begin to think that either Chevy produced a lot more than 700 or that our cars have been passed around between every car guy in the country... I'm looking forward to the tall tales I hear at the gas pumps once my '55 is back on the road. That is where I usually hear the best 'Vette stories. Although I did hear the "all metal 'Vette" story again at work this week, a co-worker had the only metal 'Vette EVER BUILT, but sold it when he got married... Good grief!- Top
