    F.I. Air Cleaner Decal

What's the best way to apply this water release decal without tiny pin size bubbles showing back through after the decal completely dries? I have tried gently rubbing all of the water and air bubbles out to where it looks great but the tiny bubbles come back. Thanks

    Justin,

Are you taking about a decal that goes on the top surface of the air cleaner? Or are you talking about the silk screen instructions that go on the underside of the lid? If it's the latter, depending on which year you're talking about, I know that one of the Corvette parts vendors has a new silk screen that is an improvement over the old repro silk screen that used to be sold by several of the catalog companies.

I am talking about the decal on the top-side of the air cleaner...the one you would see if you open the hood.

Justin, Sound like your air cleaner paint needed to be cleaned off first with some wax-grease remover first. John Where did you buy the decal? Most of the ones I see are the thick stick ons that the judges deduct for.

Check with you local hobby shops. There are treatments that are made specifically for attaching water transfer decals that will help prepare the surface and make the decal match any surface imperfections better. I used to do a lot of scale modeling when I was a kid and it was around then.

add a few drops of baby shampoo to the water as this is what the window tinters use to get the film on smoothly
