There was a post last week about the proper finish of the wheels. More specifically that the wheels were black from the manufacturer and that the Argent silver was applied by GM on the faces of the wheel only with overspray going through the slots. Does anyone have pictures of original wheels with the overspray? I'd like to duplicate the original look. Pictures would be a big help. Thanks in advance.

If you paint the argent silver on the front the overspray that goes through the slots should be good enough that they will pass judging. Just have the black paint on the back before you paint the front. I know of no way you will get the wrong look doing it like GM did.

Photo below is an original rally wheel on my '69 Z/28, showing the slight shadows of silver overspray from the face; same paint process as the Corvette rally wheels.
