56 powerglide tailshaft

I am restoring a 56 and I have been able to identify most of the transmission casting numbers and dates except for the tailshaft and converter housing. The casting number of the tailshaft is 3728585 but I am unable to verify this number in any of the P&A catalogs or books I own. I am under the impression there is not a casting date for the tailshaft. The casting number of the converter housing is correct but I am unable to locate the casting date. I am under the impression there is a casting date for the converter housing.

Any assistance with these concerns will be greatly appreciated and I want to thank everyone in advance for their help.

On 56 # 316 if I can read my notes correctly the tail shaft #s are 3726595 no cast date mentioned. The date on the converter housing is on the left back side and again if I'm reading my notes right my housing # is 3836782 dated B 17 6

my early 57 PG vette, vin 1093(early dec 56), has its original PG and the tailhousing casting # is the same as yours. there is no casting date on it. hope this helps. mike
