Roy,
I never knew the size was moulded in on the tread! Why did they ever do that? Was that before the paper labels? Did they put that green stuff on the whitewalls too? Was it called cosmolene(sp?)?

Guessing they put the tire in a rack like today so to see the size , I don't really know what was done I got the tire out of a 55 car my friend got with 1500 miles on the car, he changed all the tires to Radial's but the spare was original and still new, I gave the four that were on the car to Corvette guys here that wonted a original spare tire -FREE
I also posted this pic before asking C1 owners if they have or saw one and three people said Yes! I even had to use it once in Or. got a flat and drove it about 25 miles to a station, that's why the tits show some wear.Comment
