It is infact called a "shroud extension". Yes, you need it for judging. The last one that I purchased came from Sermershiem's Corvette 812.424.4701

Dick, Are you talking about the small curved strip that attaches at the lower rear of the shroud with those three screws?

If you're talking about something else then I guess I'm missing it too...

Greg that is the piece. If you have an older P&A 30 parts book, it is listed in section 1.000, somewhere in the 1.200 range I believe, as a shrould extension. I do not have my book in front of me right now.

I was just not clear about the extension? The JG says all cars with a copper radiator had the extension. I thought only cars with air conditioning had it?

ALL cars with the copper radiator had them. Read the 1968-'69 Technical Information and Judging Guide
