    C-3 doors

Looking for anyone with some C3 door hanging tips (do's and don'ts for first timers). I've got a '67 and both doors are sagging a little bit. The drivers's side is actually beginning to chip the paint on the body because the gap is nearly gone near the top, by the handle. Passenger's side has similar problems. Also have issues with vent window roller handles turning very loose and window weatherstripping. Would imagine it should all be done togerther as a project. Any suggestioons before diving in?

    Hey Keith,

    Not to be a jerk, but a '67 is a C-2 not a C-3.

keith, are the doors loose in the hinge area or rivits ? if not the body mounts could be sagging which mean you would need to re-shim the body to correct, which also means you are opening a can of worms as it is likely that the body mount bolts are rusted---expand on the specific area that is "loose" and you will get more suggestions as to how to about repairs or adjustments---phil

        Re: C-3 doors

The ususal cause of drooping doors, assuming all the hinge bolts are properly torqued, is worn hinge pin bushings. These are fairly easily replaced bronze bushings that give the hinge pin a close tolerance fit in the hinge.

Open the door about half way, and grip the top and bottom edges...try to lift the door. If the door has up/down movement inside the hinges without similar movement in the body, you've got worn hinge pin bushings and/or worn hinge pins.

On the later C3s, replacement of the hinge pin bushings and/or hinge pins (not usually required) is a three hammer job...). On one of those early C3s from 1967, I think it's similar setup...but, I defer to the ultra prematurely early C3 experts.
