    Stamp Pad Paint Removal

The stamp pad on my 67 has been painted. What is the best way to remove the paint without doing any harm to the pad surface? I see from the Tech Info Manual that there are machine marks I need to preserve. Thanks.

I used a gel type paint remover and applied it with a 1" foam brush.

Most spray can paint is lacquer based, so lacquer thinner will dissolve it, and an old toothbrush will usually remove the paint in the nooks and crannies.

Have used Gel-Type paint remover. Once paint is raised, remove with cotton swabs. I've put a thin coat of oil 10/30 etc to prevent any futher rust. Pad is clean. No damage to broach marks etc.
