Need to weld a clutch pivot bracket to the frame. Would anynoe know if a Mig-100 Welder with a .8mm wire provide a weld of sufficient strength to maintain the bracket on the frame with the stress of the clutch spring exerting pressure on it? Thanks. Richard

Re: C1 Welding Clutch Pivot Bracket to Frame
Richard,
Not meaning to be flip in my reply but "in the right hands, yes". My 105 Amp Mig has welded up similar pieces very well, but the thickness of that piece is pushing the capability to the extent that it requires a fair amount of care. It's important not exceed the duty cycle of the welder (weld time vs down time) so that the output remains high during the welding and the weld is strong and looks good. Have a good ground and take your time. A slight bevel on the base of the bracket will increase the strength of the weld. I welded a 4" lift kit on a 3/4 ton truck that has seen severe off-road use for 3 years and it held up fine with a similar welder. That was really way beyond the intended capability of such a welder.
A bigger welder would be better, but it can be done adequately.
