1964 Frame part number

While looking at pictures of my early 64 Coupe frame,SN 8477, noticed the original part number stencil read '3843361' instead of the JM number of 3864676 which is only number given for 64. Got out my AIM and the early number 3843361 was revised on 4-22-64. The difference appears to be the addition of the support bracket near the rear kick-up area with a pencil notation by it. The JM also states the gussets were not used til 65. My current 64 Coupe, SN 13708, was built Mar 19, and does not have the gussets. Looks like the frame should have the earlier part number prior to any gussets being added by A O Smith, then the '676' number from then on. Can anyone verify the early or late original stencils on their 64 and whether the gussets correspond with the change? Thanks!

A little more Info, but not the answer

My 64 is SN 13901 built 3-23-64, it does NOT have the gussets. Now I have seen some 64's with the gussets, however never asked owner if frame was original.

AIM was changed on 4/22/64 to reflect added brackets and part number change. Very possible a March car could carry the early frame.

Hi Bill, agree that March cars should still be using stock piled early frames but they also should be showing the 'early' frame part number. JM only shows later part number for frames. Hopefully both will included with the new one coming out soon, Thanks.
