C3 carpet question

Hello all. Is there any difference between an automatic transmission and manual in the passsenger side carpet on a '69? I cannot get the carpet to lay properly on the vertical surface near the floor below small the console access piece. I have an original floor mat and it is marked "cut here for automatic transmission" which leads me to believe that there may be a difference. Thanks for you help.

Yes their is a difference but the vendors only sell one type and I think it fits automatics. Al Knock told me a long time ago if I special ordered carpet he had the mold and could make carpet to fit a four speed. In a four speed you have a spot as you describe that won't lay properly.

Thanks for the quick response. The fact is I have an automatic and thought perhaps they only sold carpet cut for a manual. Could you have it backwards?

I could have it backwards as it's been long enough ago I'm not sure on this one. Must have been ten years ago.

Jeff,

Lyle is correct. You usually get the automatic carpet unless you specify as he noted. The automatic carpet doesn't fit well in a 4 speed car.
