Help - I've got a '65 SB and I've just put my rebuilt motor in and it's hooked up to the (recently removed and cleaned - not rebuilt) tranny. For some reason now when I go in and depress my clutch pedal there is very , very little resistance - somehow the fork/thowout bearing is not compressing the diaphram spring at all, at least that is what it feels like. The fork was in the throwout bearing when the bellhousing was put on.
I'm near positive that the whole rod/cross shaft/etc that connects the pedal to the fork is in the same spot it was before the rebuild (I made certain to put the two nuts on the cross shaft lever exactly where they were before).
Please tell me I don't have to take the motor away from the tranny.........
(I haven't yet removed the inspection plate)
Thanks,
Mark
