After finally finding the problem with my right rear brake not working, I need a little help. I replaced the old spliced turn signal switch with a new IMPORTED reproduction switch, thinking it would solve the brake light problem. No change after installation. After searching the archives, I took some advice and jumped the left side yellow to the right side green wire on the new switch and all the brake lights worked!!!! My question is, can I permanently jump the two wires, or take the hit and buy a USA made switch? Thanks to everyone.

Re: 68 Brake Wiring
Don't know the answer concerning jumping from the left yellow to the right side green. With this jump you have all brake lights working. My question is the right side rear turn signal lights blinking with this jump and does the left side rear turn signals still work and also the emergency flashers?- Top

Re: 68 Brake Wiring
After reading your response, I checked them out and the flashers work, but not the turn signal. I guess that answers my question about installing a new switch. Thanks Jim. That's what I get for trying to save a buck and buying imported junk.- Top
