    C3 Power Window Motor Jumping?

I'm working on a 1970 Corvette with Power Windows. I had the windows all the way down while tearing the car apart for a restoration.

I'm ready to disassemble the doors, but cannot get the windows up now to pull the glass, etc.

The wiring harnesses have already been pulled throughout the car. I was hoping there was a simple way use a jumper to roll the windows up and down, but I cannot get them to move.

If I can't get them back up, how would you remove the glass, regulator, motor, etc. if the motor had failed in the down position?

    Any ideas?

I thinks it would be rare but not impossible for both motors to fail so are you sure the jumpers are hooked up right? I forget which terminal is up or down but remember that the common ground is that spade conector on the side of the motor. Once that is hooked to ground, 12v on either terminal should make it move one way or the other.

      Thanks Greg,

I got one to work, but the other must have a bad motor. How would one go about getting everything out of there if the motor is bad and in the down position where it is very hard to get to anything.

Is there some way to force the mechanism up?

      Thanks.

Try tapping on the motor with a hammer handle or something like that with power applied and that might work(fingers crossed).

If that fails then I would try to take the three bolts that hold the motor in place out and just remove the motor...I know it won't be easy. Once the motor is out you should be able to push and pull the window by hand.
