    Re: Off road exhaust

Yep, that's it. Less baffles in the mufflers means less restriction and more noise, they sound great on a high winding small block.

These are the round mufflers (roughly 4" TO 5" diameter) which flow exhaust better then the conventional oval shape Corvette mufflers. They sound good but not overly loud or obnoxious.

For at least the 64 model year these are oval shaped. I have never seen a round one at least on a 64, however others may know different for different years. Note, have a set on my car (service) and another car nearby also has same, but original still and has a service set at his shop.

Me thinks that the round mufflers are C-1's and the N-11 was a C-2 option. Both were called "off road" but only the midyears had a option code

'67's are oval also and one-piece.

                  Jim------

ALL 1963-72 Corvette mufflers (except side exhaust, of course) are oval in configuration and, except for inlet pipe size and hanger brackets, are all the same in external configuration.

                  1973-82 use a "semi-circular" configuration muffler.

                    Re: Off road exhaust

On C1's they were round straight-through mufflers; on midyears, they were externally identical to the oval production mufflers, and had less internal baffles.
