    58 corvette turn signal cancel

My 58 cancel switch on the bottom side for left turn, the little arm that gets reset when the prongs come around and pull the arm mech closed ends up outside of the spring loaded longer piece so gets stuck agfainst it and wont kick it closed. HARD TO DESCRIBE SORRY. Have tried everything, what should I do next? Nothing seems to be bent anyshere. Brad

I'll bet that it's due to wear on the cast components of the assembly. Several years ago there was an outstanding article by Joe Calcagno in the Restorer about a fix for this problem.

Sounds like the pins are too short or the collar is too far away from the hub

Rob could one put a sleeve of some sort on the existing arm making it long enough to pull the longer arm closed or should I just buy a new unit from vender? thanks brad

          Huh???

I don't understand your question Brad. If you are talking about the pins I think they should be about 5/8 of an inch out of the hub. New roll pins can be purchased at any hardware store
