John Do you know if this block has a big bow tie in it like the heads do? Is it void of the bow tie symbol on it?

No Bow-Tie on the block. Where are they cast? I don't know, for sure. However, they're cast at some foundry that uses an "E" as a manufacturer's identifier. It may be Edelbrock. The blocks are machined at Swartz Machine Co. in Warren, MI.

                Hey rob,
The latest dealer cost is $4430....the GM parts direct dealer is either selling it below cost or they buy them by the truckload and get a better price...who knows?
They have to make a profit somehow and it can only be on the shipping and handling if they price the parts at or below cost.

They buy quite a few of their items by the truck load. They did have quite a few Z-06 engines at one time, like 15-20 which I am sure were not shipped one at a time. They buy Targetmaster engines by the trailer load, which gives them a better price break.
