    C2 Rocker Panel screws

    All,

Could you look in your AIM for 63 thru 66 and post the screw part number for the 2 phillips head screws that secure the rocker molding to the body. Where appropriate, please also look at the part# for the N14 option.

I am trying to determine if they are the same thruout the years and thus the finish.

The 67 AIM calls out part# 9420554 for both standard and side pipe cars.

    Thanks in advance

64 AIM, page updated to 4-22-64, shows the 9420554.
N14 is n/a however some info is in AIM, but not screw of that number.

      Here's mine Steve

The two rusty phillips on the right are what I took off my 67 S/B (no side pipes). They have a smaller head than the repros for the same screw size.

The cleaned up chrome screw in the center with the blunt tip is one of the lower rocker panel screws I took off from the drivers side. The others on that side were the same.

The lower screws on the passenger side, look like the black phosphate repros.

Can't explain the difference in screws from side to side. First time off on the drivers side. Passenger side has never been off to my knowledge. One of these days I'm going to take it off to see if I still have my frame numbers; just one of these days.

'65 AIM same # as you say for '67

for both side exhaust and standard moldings.

Also, same spring nut # 445109 is used on standard side molding as well as N14 exhaust molding.

              easy--- fast--- fun

gary, deep socket for screw head support---small ball peen hammer to tap the X head burrs back in place---drill motor (chuck up the screw) and various thickness of shop towels over which you place 220---400---600---1500 sandpaper to polish to your liking---coat with vht clear---the head of the screw has to be pretty bad for this not to work---it works awsome on top latch screws---you can also do other gm bumper bolts the same way but will not need the clear naturally as it is a stainless cap---the bumper bolts will come out nicer than the chrome on the bumper if use 2000 grit---good luck, phil

                Rocker screw

The same screw, p/n 9420554, was used for all 63-67 rocker mouldings and for the 65-67 N14 equipped cars for their rocker mouldings

                  Re: Rocker screw

What is the correct finish, Black or "shiny" as in chrome or stainless?
