Oil pressure

I have a 66 327/350. will switching to 15w40 diesel oil raise the oil pressure, and if so, does that hurt the engine.

Assuming that you're using something like 10W-30 now, I doubt that you'll notice any significant increase in pressure with the 15W-40. You might notice that it runs SLIGHTLY higher pressure when the engine's at operating temperature and at cruise RPM. The 15W-40 will absolutely not hurt anything.

Paul, the 15W-40 oil may raise your oil pressure slightly, depending on the condition of your engine. The pressure difference will not affect your engine.

Another option is to use diesel 10W-30 if the heavier weight oil concerns you.

OK, no replies. I use this CH-4/SH oil in my 1967. Available at Canadian Tire in Canada. About $3.00/liter.
