    63 Rocker Panels

I took my original 63 rocker panels to a plater today to get a price on re anodizing them. There is a twist in one of them and someone drilled a couple of extra screw holes in them. I couldn't believe the cost ($1100.00). I've got to find a less expensive plater or buy reproductions.
Does anyone have a plater that can repair and anodize them at a reasonable cost or suggest a vendor for reproduction rockers.
I live in the North East (Boston area)
Thanks again to all for the assistance.

Bob, there are still NOS out there. The last set I bought, 3 years ago, was $200.00. Probably $400.00 today but that still beats $1100.00.

I saw a pair on ebay last week, it was up $700.00 and the auction wasn't over yet.
I have heard that the reproductions don't fit well and would prefer NOS. But not at $700.00

        Hi Bob,
Try going to car shows also selling parts. Well winter is about here so start in spring, however FLA is coming up soon, a good show and warm weather.
In general ebay is a waste of time.

Bob, if the extra 2 holes are on the ribbed side lower than the other holes it may be an original "early" rocker moulding that uses 4 holes instead of 2.Bob

I just had my 63 rocker panels anodized by McNichols Polishing and Anodizing in the Detroit, Mi area (Redford). I paid $400 for the (2) panels and the set of console trim. Don't know, how much it was for the panels only.
They did an excellent job, strip, polish and anodize. (look at my pic's of the panels I posted a w/i this week when I had a question about re-painting them)
They do welding, too, as per their business card.
If you want, call Mike at 313-538-3470. Tell him, he just did a set for me...
If you need help with shipping it back to you (if they don't want to do the shipping, I can assist you with that). Just Email me...

Rainer, That price was cheap for sure. I am sure happy I got my NOS one back for my show car.
THe NOS one measures about 66-1/16" long. The NOS one on the car is 60-5/8" Harry.
Yes Ranier you did well. Meanwhile $1100 was a major rip for sure. Must be a plater in the swamp. JD

RJ, The two extra holes were probably for a reflector lite. Yeah you are on the ball. You don't see many of those early rockers. In fact hardly any at all. Jr.

Will you be rocking on them??? Seriously I haven't seen any of those in a long time. In fact I may have only seen one set of them period.
RJ what kind of clip was used to hold the end screws of the rocker molding on. The clip in the back. Can you post a nice pic of one here for all to see as I doubt many have the correct retainer. Thanks, John
