On pg. 56 of the 68-69 Technical Guide, it states that there are spring clamps on the vacuum line at the card and at the vacuum advance. Is that correct?

Re: C3 Vacuum Advance Spring Clamps

I don't know if any cars originally had the spring clamps on the vacuum advance line. However, I can tell you with certainty that my original-owner 1969 never had any clamps anywhere on this line, either at the distributor vacuum control, at the junction between the rubber line and the steel line or at the rubber line to the carburetor. Also, the AIM's show no clamps being used.
There is a spring CLIP used, though. It mounts to one of the right side manifold bolts and retains/positions the steel vacuum advance line. It's available in reproduction. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
