    C-1 leaf spring banding tool

Corvette Central recommends the use of Signode banding tool SRC-5823 to seal the clip to the steel band but no longer rents this tool to its customers because too many renters failed to return the tools to CC. I checked a website that sells this tool for $160. A bit pricy, I think, for notching/crimping six clips/bands for the C-1 leaf springs restoration. Does anyone have this tool and would be willing to rent it to me? I would consider buying the tool and after using it, sell it at a discount to another NCRS member or renting it out to other members so that the cost to any one of us can be substantially reduced.

Any interested members can respond to this post or by emailing me at ChiltonLA@cs.com. Or, if other members have a better suggestion, I would be pleased to hear it.

    Larry -

Almost every business that has a shipping dock has a Signode banding tool.

        John,

The signode tool that most loading docks use is for wider clamps. I bought one from WW Grainger through my company account, kept the packing, and then returned it.
