I am bringing my 67 big block from N.Y.to Kissimmee Florida to have it flight judged in Jan. This is my first attempt at having a car judged. I followed the judging manual very close. I am looking for some advice on how not lose points by over looking some simple details. This is a very general question, but any advice would be great. It would be a long miserable 1200 mile trip home with a 2nd or 3rd flight.

Re: 1st time for judging
BJ,
As you are located in New York, you could invite a couple of the Senior New York resident NCRS guys over to your place for a beer and a look see. A couple of them are 67 Big Block specialists....if I can use that word. That would pretty much guarantee the Top Flight you're looking for in Orlando....and a nice drive back to winter.
PS:
I'll look for your car when I'm there. It would be nice to meet you.- Top

Re: 1st time for judging
As suggested, download the judging forms for your year, buy yourself a Technical Information Manual & Judging Guide and do your own judging. You won't judge like the judges do but you will be close. Then, with the TIM & JG and judging sheets in hand, go over the car slowly and carefully. Not only will you find out more about your car but you will understand the judging sheets better.
I suggest photocopying the judging sheets and go over your car several times. After each judging, you fix what needs to be done, then do it again. In addition, if you have NCRS friends, buy some pizza and beer and have your own judging party. Let them be critical and judge your car.

Re: 1st time for judging
B.J. ---- Just relax and you'll enjoy having your car judged at Kissimmee. If this is you're first time, it will be a learning experience for future events. If you followed the TIMJG while restoring it, your car should do very well. Remember things like this for pluses & deductions. Good reproduction tires score -3 on originality / having a battery cut-off switch, fire extinguisher and NCRS decal provides you a bonus 10 points. Hope to meet you there.
