C-3, two questions

1.) 1970 oil plug. There is one on eBay that says it's NOS (like so many do but not). Is there a marking on the head for the correct one? This is the eBay link with the picture:

2.) 1970 gas cap. Aren't they supposed to have a rubber gasket on the underside? Mine doesn't have one. Where does one find one?

Not sure about 1970 but this auction says it is for a 67 68 etc and I have a 68 and the original plug for the 68 was the size of a quarter and did not look like th eone in this auction.
I think the plug on this auction might be the dealer replacement but Joe Lucia will know for sure.
I bought a correct (repro) spare 68 oil pan plug for $10 from Long Island Corvette

Recently there were posts (mine included) about this vendor's use of the term "NOS". I don't believe there was anything said about him that wasn't negative.

I have an oil plug with quarter sized head with an 'A' on it but I thought that was for '63-'67. Or does that same plug carry over to the early C-3s?

The oil drain plug pictured is a magnetic-type plug. This type plug was not used on PRODUCTION engines for the 1953-82 period + most thereafter. However, the head is similar to the plug used for 1969-1982. I seriously doubt the headmarking will be the same, though. If you want one like the one pictured in the eBay item, you can order a GM #24241872. About 20 bucks, GM list.

All 1969-82 Corvettes used a flanged head drain plug which was 9/16" across-the-flats (wrench size). If you want one of these, you can purchase it from GM under GM #3921988. About 3 bucks, GM list. It likely will not have an original headmark, though. Typical original headmarks are 3 lines with an "A" of "M" in the center.

The 7/8" across-the-flats drain plug was used through 1967. It may also have been used for part of or all of 1968. It was definitely NOT used after 1968.

Your fuel cap should definitely have a rubber gasket. You can get the from Dr. Rebuild. The gaskets as a separate part were never available from GM.
