The last St Louis Corvette vin # 1G1AY8764BS431611 was delivered to Ed Rinke Chevrolet in Center Line, MI. I was bought by Dave Burroughs and 5 other Corvette enthusiasts, they formed a partnership know as "The Last St Louis Corvette" and bought the Corvette on August 22,1981. The Corvette has changed hands and to my knowledge from back in 2002 it is now owned by Kevin Adams of Indiana, fellow NCRS member. Save the Wave.>George

Bill, I haven't heard the name Bob Hegge in many a years. Is he still around? Bob used to follow the ISCA show car circuit and as you know his photos were in all the auto magazines in the 60's 70's,etc.
Name a magazine and I am sure if you check he credits Bob was responsible. I remember him snapping a lot of pics of my old hot rod many years ago at some big name shows., Hopefully he is alive and well but if he was he would have to be in his 80's. Thanks, John

I remember seeing a white corvette in a large building on a farm ouside Bloomington IL. We were buying a Mercedes-Benz from a young collector whose father owned a large vacuum cleaner company. The corvette was noticed because probably several hundred people had signed the car with ball point pens. He said it was the last corvette made in St Louis. Was not interested in talking about the car because it was not a SWC. This was probably in 1985. Cleaned the the mercedes and sold several years ago for more than we paid.

They really hired them young back then. Check the guy with the hat next to "Last" on the windshield.
