    C-3, NOS (?) fire extinguisher

This is on eBay and I was wondering where they mount. Does having an NOS one amount to much more points than just having a replacement?

    Thanks,

i wouldn't mount any fire extinguisher, nos or otherwise, in a corvette. wasn't a factory installed option, dealer supplied to interested owners. doubt the GM extinguisher will garner any more points than a Wal-mart variety but will certainly cost more than generic. mike

I was curious as at the last NCRS Regional meet this year I saw a few Corvettes with fire extinguishers layed out for display.

            Scott -

A fire extinguisher will earn you three bonus points, but none were ever provided with the car as an option from the factory; no such thing as an "NOS" Corvette fire extinguisher (although eBay sellers just LOVE the "NOS" moniker). As Mike noted, ANY fire extinguisher will earn the bonus points, although you should have a GOOD one in case you really need it.

I get so incensed when I see parts advertised as NOS or NORS particularly when the boxes are new GM. That term NOS is sure used loosely and deceptively. Another ruse is a removed part that has been cleaned up and being called 'NOS'. Now there is an NOS five port piston and head on eBay that raised all two hairs on my head. Not the part itself....the price.

At least he didn't call it an NOS matching number extinguisher

could he possibly be referring to 'NOS' as a nitrous oxide system,I have seen many bottles that could be mistaken for a fire extinguisher in some cars ?
