Yes, it could well be the original alternator if the car has C-60. The first number is, of course, the alternator part number which is correct for a 1971 Corvette. The "61A" means the alternator is rated at a maximum output of 61 amps. The 3rd set of numbers, "1B6", is the date code. It decodes to February 6, 1971. The last set of numbers of course means 12 volt, negative ground which all 1955-2008 Corvettes (except 1955 with 6 cylinder) are.
By virtue of the date code, your car would have to have been built after February 6, 1971.
