Yes, enlightening post....thanks for sharing your experience. My early built 62 is a very rough, but original car. And yes, I have discovered some new things about this car that may conflict with some info in the JG as others have also brought out. Unfortunately the rear emblem, bezel and backplate is missing.
I now wonder if mine originally had the black painted aluminum backplate and the silver emblem as you brought up. I always welcome the opportunity to find out more history about my car. The prior owner of my car owned it since 1972, so I'll have to give him a call and jog his memory. Who knows, he may still have it lying around!
