Rob,
I was able to attend the first retreat a few years ago. It was everything I had hoped it would be and far more. A tremendous amount of time and work had been put in by many, many people to make it the success it was. It would certainly be worth your time and effort to attend.
Regards,
Alan

Once came across an axiom in advertising. Doing business without advertising is like winking at a girl in the dark. You know what you are up to but no one else does.

The fact is, there's not enough room at the judging retreat for MEMBERS that want to attend, let alone non-members. Some members will have to be turned away. That alone should justify limiting attendance, and advertising, to members only. Member applications are processed on a first come-first served basis, and those that attend are happy to pay handsomely for their ticket.
In any event, those that won't pony up $35/year for annual dues, are highly unlikely to pull 200 kicking and screaming greenbacks from their wallet for the registration fee. I believe the advertising is properly directed...only the creme de la creme are eligible to pay for the best Corvette education available.

Now, Erik, you guys in the Netherlands...Your sacrifice to attend and learn all you can about this hobby is an example to us ALL! Unlike USA members, the registration fee is a pittance compared to your other travel expenses.

According to the NCRS website, the only thing in February is Valentine's Day!
Do not have the time nor inclination to debate the merits of advertising and membership growth. But consider this scenario - a Corvette owner in Texas has heard about this thing called NCRS. He goes to the website calender to investigate. Sees nothing in his part of the country. Logs off. Possible??
When events are only promoted within the membership, you are preaching to the choir.
Gotta run. A 6 series BMW followed me home yesterday afternoon so it's time to enjoy some spirited driving. GOLLY, maybe it was some advertising that first aroused my interest?
