              Probably shop made. Not required by SCCA until 1958 as I recall.

              Anyone know Jerry or recognize the name?

                      I think your timing on when SCCA mandated roll bars is pretty close. Below is a scan of The President's Message (SCCA) from the March-April 1957 edition of the Sports Car Magazine (published by the SCCA). Looks like the roll bar debate was a pretty contentious one. I gather the SCCA leadership just ended the debate, mandated roll bars, and told everybody to move on. Amazing how yesterday's tough issues always look so easy with the benefit of hindsight.

                              neat article russ. ole doc wyllie was a regular competitor at the Cumberland SCCA nationals in the 50's and 60's. he musta been a real character. thanks for the article. mike
