I've read previous posts about a Michelin X white wall tire that has a thin white wall (exactly what I looking for). I don't see this tire on the Michelin web site. Is it known by a different name?

Re: Michelin Thin White Wall Radial Tires
I made an earlier post on this tire. I bought 4 this summer from Sam's discount store. I have just been to the garage and here are the numbers ect from the sidewall of the tire.
All Season Michelin X Radial P205/75R15 97S M+S
DOT HNCC A36X 497
AL2503
06-06887-01
Made in Canada
Other data talks about traction ratings ect.
White wall measures 5/8 inch.
Made a stunning improvement on the '65 conv as they replaced the reproduction bias ply tires. I have come to determine that reproduction tires are for looks only. Original bias ply tires drove much better in 1966 than these current repro bias plys. How do I know? I had a 1966 Corvette in 1967 with bias ply tires and never had the poor quality tire experience that I have experienced with the repros. Interestinly enough I swapped the tires on the '66 for Michelins in 1967 and simply repeated my action in 1998 for the 1965 conv.Seeya

Re: Michelin Thin White Wall Radial Tires
Tim, I put a set of Michelin thin stripes on my '68 this summer. Mine are the Michelin X ONE tires available in 215/70R 15. They are super close in size to a F70-15 for '68-'72s. They'll work for '73-'76s(don't think they had white stripe in '77) but the 215/70R 15s are slightly, slightly smaller than a true GR 70-15. Also I picked up these 5 tires mint shape, low mileage at a salvage yard for $175.00 These tires came OEM on many full size Mercury and Fords. Also on many new Cadillacs. These tires new are about $115.00 apiece. I think the other narrow white stripe tire is the Michelin Symmetry. Paul Borowski Massillon, Ohio- Top
