Are original ( seam on bottom, no part#) exhaust extensions magnetic?

    Re: original '66 exhaust extensions

Rob -- Can't say for sure on 66's, but the 1965 TIM&JG calls for " ...welded seam on bottom. Most have visible stamped part #s."

I have 2 sets; ones with seam and part # are strongly magnetic. I added these extensions to my coupe around 1981, so may have been (then) current service.

A second set I have (eBay) has NO visible seam and are not magnetic in the least.

Both are 2 inches exactly in diameter.

I realize this is no help to you, but am hoping other's answers may solve my situation as well.

i suspect the c-2 judging manuals, in forthcoming revisions, will favor no part # and a seam for originality. mike

            Agree with Mike!

No Part number, with seam, and slightly magnetic for an original.

Sounds exactly like the original '67 exhaust extensions.
