    Instrument harness repair teminals

Does anyone know if just the copper contact in the middle of the pic is available anywhere?

I had two of these break off and further inspection of the harness found a few more hanging by a strand or two so I want to replace those as well.

I know that you can get the full socket assy with a few inches of wire but I'm not really interested in that kind of repair. I just want to nip a 1/4" of the ends off and install a new contact.

If it matters this is from my 69.

    Thanks.

    rivet

That rivet is a product that was made internally at the former Packard Electric Division from unannealed copper wire. I do not know of an outside source, however the reproduction houses seem to have one. You might try to contact one of them and see if they will sell you a few.

Thanks Rob that's probably what I need. I e-mailed them for dimensions today to compare and make sure they will work in place of my originals. I haven't checked them against mine yet to make sure but I thought I'd post the e-mail in case others are curious.

"Greg, Ron asked me to send you some dimensions of the LC-99 contacts, they are as follows:
( all measurements are in inches )

                .075 crimp end I.D.
                .133 crimp end O.D.
                .191 cavity depth
                .192 head O.D.
                .205 overall length

Let me know if we help you with anything else.
