    67 Headlight Motors

My 67 Convertible has a build date of November 2, 1966. My question is the date code on my Headlight Motors reads 11-66. Is this possible to have 1-day before Vehicle build, Headlight Motors.

    Thanks alway's

    Don

Don, your build date of 11-2 is just an estimate unless you have the paperwork.

Don, does any of the documentation have on it the "date produced", with a typed date following? I concentrate on 63's and know where to look on that year's doc., but not that familiar with 67 doc. I'm note sure where the motors were manufactured but I would think 1 day is too short of a time period. On my April 63, the motors are from 12/62 and 1/63.

            Hopefully others will chime-in.

The body build date is on the trim tag. Check it out. It is stamped next to "DETROIT MICHIGAN" IT should start with "D" and 2 digits which are the day of the month. The completed car was 0-1 day following this date.

                        Don,
I agree with Harry, the dates are too close to the body build date.

                        My 67 April car has 2B67 (Week 2 Feb 67) and 3B67 (week 3 Feb 67).

Now that I looked that up, your codes 11-66 don't line up with the norm which could have been "X"K66 for (week "X" Oct 66) or something like that.

Thanks Steve, i'am the 3rd owner of the car, so i expect at some point they where changed for what ever reason. I'll see if i can find someone who has an earlier dated set of mounting brackets, where the date code is stamped, like you mentioned and possibly trade mine. There in excellent condition for their age.

                            Thanks,

                            Don
