    1967 Conv. Windshield Trim

Before I get too aggressive trying to polish my original inner and outer windshield trim pieces, are they stainless steel or chrome plated? What would be the best method of removing wear marks on them if stainless, jeweler's polish? Paint rubbing/polishing compound? By hand or with power buffer? TIA

Donald, I recently removed my outer moldings and had them reworked. They are stainless steel. I had a few imperfections on all 4 pieces of molding, therefore I had a local chroming shop take all the dents out and repolish them. It looks great. I just posted a message about re-installing the lower molding. Try to make sure you do not bend it, becuase it is the hardest to put back on. And be careful, you can break your glass if you do not reinstall correctly.

I just did mine as follows: Remove all trim, which is stainless steel (I was getting new windshield in); remove scrates with 220 sandpaper; polish on buffer using three step abrasive process. Came out great. Note trim is a bear to bear to get back on. You may also consider leaving trim in place and using a drill with 4" buffing wheel and 3 stage abrasive process. You'll probably want to mask off the windshield and body first. Good luck.
