The picture looks like the right hand side, and someone modified the vent to get some outside air for an aftermarket AC evaporator.

First off you are correct , its the right side not the left (details, details ).I always get those two confused . Thank God I was never in the Military !
Secondly, It appears from Wayne's picture that the foam that was originally attached to the door, was removed and glued to the opening for whatever reason.?
Lastly , I will be sending you some pieces for plating , as it seems you do a great job! That will fix your "little red wagon" for saying you enjoy it so much !
I am still not "having as much fun" as you , but I am moving along and I do appreciate your photos and such.
