    '54 Radiator Hoses

I have looked through several Corvette Catalogs and none of them list radiator hoses for the '54 Corvette. Can anyone suggest a supplier who has molded hoses for the '54? I would appreciate any info you may have. Thanks.

    Bob------

I don't know of any REPRODUCTION hoses on the market for 53-55 6 cylinder applications (i.e. hoses that have correct lettering, numbers, etc.). However, I believe that the following hoses are molded hoses that MAY work for your application:

    Goodyear

    Upper #009003

    Lower #003159

Otherwise, you may want to contact Mary Jo Rohner. She has a web-site but I don't have it handy at the moment.

If you decide to try the above-referenced Goodyear hoses, let us know how they work out. Feed-back is important.

Grossmueller also recommended. I have bought many sets from Carol over the years. Pass judging. Buy with confidence.

I checked out Grossmuellers and they list a radiator hose kit which includes all the hoses, but there is a choice of with or without a metal elbow. According to the guy I talked to, the '53s and early '54s did not have the metal elbow but he did not know the cutoff S/N. My S/N is 2504 which places it slightly before half way through the '54 production. Is there any way to tell if I should have the metal elbow? And, where the heck does the metal elbow go anyway? A previous owner had installed odd ball hoses so I can't go by that. Thanks.

                            Bob,

According to the Judging Guide and as far as I know, ALL six's had two lower hoses. The metal elbow connects the two hoses. Maybe the "guy" was suggesting that if you already had the elbow you could by the hoses without the elbow.
