I am presently working on my 67 BB. I am taking a close look at the engine stamp. There are no milling marks or grinder marks at all on the surface that can be seen with the naked eye. At one time there must have been some surface rust on it because it looks like it has some very small pits on it. The last three digits are 813. The 8 and the 3 are lower than the rest of the line. Also, there is only a very little space between a O and a 2. This car was judged in the late 80's at a regional meet and did not get deducted for the pad. I am having my car judged next year and want to get some opinions.I have good history on the car and there was no indication of an engine change. It seems to me if this was a re-stamp there should have been a lot more care taken to make sure that everything was lined up and close to perfect. We all know it was not a perfect marking system in the factory. I don't know how to post a picture, but I will e-mail it to anyone who wants to give an opinion.
