I just checked my stash of powder coated 53 wheels. I have 17 and none of them have the dog bone cutouts. Just the rivets. I'll check some 54 wheels this weekend.

I thought the early wheels were rivited. I had heard that the welded wheels came out with tubeless tires.

53 and 54 were a different wheel--didn't have dogbones. 61-62 were welded without dogbones. (60 may have also) You'll lose points with dogbone wheels if you're being judged for 61-62.
