Re: AC air filter application???
It fits '63 to '65 Corvette engines with carburetors, except 396, and is no longer in production, however, it is not "original".
The A353 is the cellulose replacement for the original urethane foam element that was either never available as a service replacment or only available for a short period of time.
When the butt joint on my SWC's foam element broke in 1968 I ordered a replacement from a Chevrolet dealer and the A353 is what I got.
I recommend a cellulose element for normal driving since they have much better filtration efficiency that the OE or repro foam element, but these paper elements are a little restictive since since the air cleaner housing is rather short to fit under the hood, resulting in a filter with relatively low total area for the engine size. That may have been why Chevrolet originally installed the foam elements. It's likely less restrictive, but no where near as effective at trapping small particles.
IIRC the Napa 2070 cellulose filter will fit these air cleaners.

NLA Service 11-68
Duke --- Parts history gives this date to replace service A165C (#6418399) with current # A353C. Bought this in early '80s from an ad in Vette Vues.
The foam disintegrates if you look at it sideways

Re: NLA Service 11-68
It must have been before that because I left Seattle 6/68, and I know I bought the replacement A353 in Seattle. When they presented it to me I told them I wanted the foam element, but they said the paper element was the only listed part for the application.
