I have a 1966 427-450 H.P. coupe and I am wondering where I find the Holley Carb number on it (just recently bought the car)? What would be the correct # for this Holley, as it is a numbers- matching car? I noticed that when I drove it for the first time a week ago, it was back-firing thru the carb( I think the 2 gas filters are partially plugged as the car has been driven verry little since the engine, etc., was rebuilt-about 3 years ago). Any comments, please.

and it is found on front driver side airhorn
Just like this early '64 carb, dated 3A3 (1963, November, 3rd week).
At that location you should see the numbers mentioned by Joe L., and dates appropriate to the production timeframe of your car. Post them and I'm sure others will respond as to correctness.
