    4656 Fuel Pump

Does anyone know if all original 4656 pumps for a 62, 300 HP have the casting seam where the numbers are stamped or can some be smooth depending on the mold used.
    Thanks for your help

I rebuilt mine last night and the 4656 is stamped on the edge of the mounting flange.

Every original that I have documented has the parting seam--also has numerals misaligned. There's no way that the original numerals will fit on the flange without interfacing with the parting seam, so taking an old pump and redoing the number correctly is tough.
