Can someone please give me the P/N for the correct vacuum advance applicable to the 906 distributor. This is for a 1957 283CI 250HP engine. The numbers I have are 1116104 or 1116125 but I`m not sure which is correct.

Per the Delco Specs 1963 supplement, the 125 is the one you want.Bill Clupper #618- Top

Re: Vacuum Advance C-1 FI
Could be, but that wouldn't make the '104 anything more than a service replacement item. '60 Chevy parts book also confirms the '125 as the "real deal"Bill Clupper #618- Top

Re: Vacuum Advance C-1 FI
Many OE VACs were consolidated to different replacement part numbers over the years, which is why "correct" VACs can be difficult to find for some engines.
If you want a functionally correct VAC for a 283/250 FI the NAPA VC1802 (0@8", 16@15", marked B22) is functionally correct for all SBs with the base engine camshaft.
You can cross reference the NAPA number to other brands, and they will all be stamped "B22" because they are all the exact same part manufactured by Standard Motor Products.

Re: Vacuum Advance C-1 FI
Duke, The B22 won't fit a 906 distributor. The configuration of the 906 VA is completely different than a B22. 906 VA's are very rare no matter which one you use.
AS mentioned the real deal 906 FI VA part number is 1116125. The replacement is 1116104. I understand there is a repro a but I will tell you that it's not in specs from what I've heard.
I know we always reference a lot of stuff to the NAPA numbers. But do you or others happen to have the cross over number for the B22 & B28 for other stores that sell Standard??? I mean the number in their catalog. Thanks very much, John D.- Top

Re: Vacuum Advance C-1 FI
Bill, Rad my other post. Your info in your notes is correct. If you can find a nice NOS 104 best use it as finding a NOS 125 is extremely difficult. They just aren't out there. I collect VA's and don't have even one 906 VA with any numb er. With all the 906's being converted to 905's I am going to go out on the limb and say in not too many years the 906 is going to end up being the rarest FI distributor in the world. Rare than the 889's even. Too many are being hacked up and made into fake 905's. Mark my word on this point.John D.- Top
