Anybody have any success in replicating the textured finish of the seat belt buckle paddle? I experimented with a paint brush flick to no avail. Pic below is original finish.
Re: Surface texture 64-65-66E Seat belt buckles...
Jim,
When I painted the paddles on my '65 seat belt buckles, I did not try to reproduce the surface texture (only the gloss level of the black).
After looking at your picture, I wonder if painting the paddles with the splatter paint that is used inside GM trunks and then topcoating it with the correct paddle paint might reproduce the original looking surface finish?
I don't have any of the trunk spatter paint, but I think it is available from Eastwood. Just an idea.
might also check the paint department at a home improvement center or hardware store as they have different texture paints in rattle cans that you could top coat with a compatible correct color.
