if some one knows the spies hecker code for Daytona blue

Even if you get the code, you probably will not get the color. If there is no information in that brand, it probably was never available. Even if there was old formulas available in one of the domestic brands, there is no guarantee that it will still be available.

i got a book to take home with collors and compared it with the 1963 paint chips i have and found one that comes realy close

so i will go for this color
it is already nearly impossible to get it in thinner based BC
because of enviromental isues all base coats are water based these days
          in the Netherlands

          thanks Sander,

An alternative is to ask really nicely and see if someone with a blue painted part could ship it to you for reference.

            Just a thought.

              Sander,

No one answered your question about how long the color was used.
              1964 Corvette used Daytona Blue.
In 65 it was not used on Corvettes but I believe was used on other Chevrolet cars with the name Danube blue.

My 1967 Chevelle is Deepwater Blue and it sure looks to me like Daytona Blue. Whenever it is done it will be Daytona Blue anyway. One would have to do some research to see if the same color was available in other A-bodies (Cutlas, Tempest, ect) or full size GM models.

Daytona Blue, code 916 for Chevrolet, was one and the same as 63 and 64 Buick Diplomat Blue, Olds. Midnight Mist Blue, and Pontiac Nocturne Blue. Dupont lacquer formula 4395L.

Do these car use the same metallic particles in their paint as was done for the '63 Daytona Blue cars?

                    greetings,
                    Rob.

Bob, If you are refering to my post, yes, they are exactly the same formula, however, modern offsets may not.
