Re: C1 after market item looks good
I remember them being sold by those California string-backed driving glove sporty car companies as "wind wings."
Can you still buy them? Where? How much?
If I remember correctly, you had to drill holes in the door pillar ot mount them. Is that still the case?- Top

Re: C1 after market item looks good
The ones made and sold back in the sixties and sold in sports car magazines were made by EELCO. They were plexiglass and required drilling four holes in each door post. Rich- Top

Re: C1 after market item looks good
I have them on my '62. The previous owner ('65 - '05) put them on. They are plexiglass. The previous owner also gave me another set of window posts - I've never looked at them and I do NOT know if the undrilled ones are the originals or NOS.
I personally have mixed emotions about them. I would replace the window posts but do not want to disassemble the doors to do so.- Top

.....so Roy do I charge you for using my car or do I pay you for the advertisment... the windwings were a dealer installed option, mine are made of plexiglass and were installed by Harry Mann Chev in LA in 1962. And yes you can Duntov a car with some dealer options. SA'06- Top

Re: C1 Jerry
I was looking for a set and just found the brackets. I need to make the "glass" part yet. My car had these or similiar on it years ago, so the holes are already in the door posts. I think they look nice, so I am putting them on. I can't say though that I would be ready to drill my door posts. I am mounting them because the holes are there.- Top
